1. What is the English Linguistics program?

          The English Linguistics program trains students to use English proficiently in academic settings, professional environments, and international communication. In addition to developing the four language skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing – students acquire in-depth knowledge of the language, culture, and society of English-speaking countries.

          During their studies, students are exposed to practical applications of English in fields such as business, finance and banking, tourism and hospitality, international relations, teaching, and translation, thereby expanding their career opportunities in the context of globalization.

2. Program objectives

The English Linguistics program aims to:

·        Train graduates with strong ethical values, professional conduct, and solid academic competence to meet society’s demand for high-quality human resources.

·        Equip students with English proficiency of at least Level 5 in the Vietnamese 6-Level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework (equivalent to C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – CEFR).

·        Provide in-depth knowledge of the language, culture, and society of English-speaking countries.

·        Develop professional skills in fields such as translation and interpreting, office administration, tourism and hospitality, finance and banking, language teaching, and linguistic research.

·        Establish a foundation for further academic study and research at the postgraduate level.

1. What is the Chinese Linguistics program?

          The Chinese Linguitics program equips students with the ability to use Chinese proficiently in communication and professional contexts while providing comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese language, culture, history, and society.

          During their studies, students develop the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They are also provided with supplementary knowledge in areas such as international business, translation and interpreting, and foreign language teaching methodology in order to meet the growing demand for qualified human resources in the context of global economic integration.

          In addition, students have opportunities to participate in various extracurricular activities such as Vietnam - China cultural exchange programs, company visits, Chinese speech contests, and traditional cultural festivals. These activities help enhance both language proficiency and cultural understanding.
